Vice Principal’s Message
I would like to welcome you all to our new website, and I hope you find it informative and helpful to understand what Al Mustafa is really about. Since I began as principal I have seen so many changes happen to Al Mustafa Academy. We have gone from holding our classes in a Masjid, then a Banquet Hall in a Community Hall, and finally to the school building we are in presently. Our student population has increased exponentially every year. Through all these changes we have continued to build a school with the student at the center of our being.
Our aim for our students is to offer them an education that will help them become excellent leaders, with high morals that will contribute as prominent citizens in our country – Canada. When we found that our school population had so many students where English is not their first language, we rose to the challenge and offered English as a Second Language to help these students in their academic learning. We have grown and will continue to grow according to the demand of the times, situations, and needs of our school community.
We are an Alberta accredited school, with the Alberta Curriculum taught by Alberta Certified teachers. Our staff and students will become lifelong learners and responsible citizens striving to reach new heights in order to make the world a better place to live. It is our goal to use various teaching and learning strategies such as: Life Skills, Lifelong Guidelines, Multiple Intelligences, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Cooperative Learning.
At Al Mustafa Academy we all want the best for our students, but we (School and Staff) are not enough. Each student will gain from any school according to the effort he/she applies. To increase the degree of educational success in Al Mustafa Academy, it is very important that teachers, parents, and administrators communicate openly and frequently concerning the progress of students. We all need to work together as a team with the family, school, and community to encourage and motivate all students to reach their full potential.
